This position is a part of the Grayling OSB organization and will report to the Engineering Manager. This is a Full Time, Exempt position. This team member will support the Grayling organizations operating effectiveness and be involved with capital project support.

Key Functions:
Responsibilities include process control and electrical engineering support to all Mill Areas with technical assistance to specify, design and develop improvements in complex instrumentation, automation, process control, gauging and
computer
control systems.
Provide troubleshooting support plant-wide, maintain and enhance the engineering process control philosophy, strategy, and controls standard operating procedures. Lend expertise to departments to ensure understanding of process characteristics and tune loops accordingly.
Prepare electrical one-line diagrams, schematics and short circuit analysis. Specify and select equipment, PLC systems for purchase. Layout and arrange plans, equipment, MCCs, control panels, PLC systems, motor control schematics, installation details, lighting and grounding. Prepare motor list, I/O lists, conduit and cable schedules.
Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs including budget development, estimating labor, material, construction costs and operator training as necessary. Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment. Participate in developing commissioning and start-up plans and provide field assistance as required.
Work on energy efficiency team to determine energy and cost saving initiatives. Develop strategies to improve long range electrical, network and instrument reliability within the operating variability in the process.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/ Controls and have at least 5 years experience in Electrical Engineering.
Broad-based product knowledge including Variable Frequency Drives, PLC's, Motion Control, Coordinated Drive Systems, Thickness Gauges, Machine Vision, Instrumentation, Process Control, HMI Software, Network design experience with Ethernet, DeviceNet, Modbus.
Modicon PLC Programmer experience; electrical troubleshooting skills, computer skills in LAN, PC, Windows, MS Office, e-mail, ACAD, Ethernet LAN; Modbus Plus communication networks.
Electrical design and build capabilities including process control panel, safety circuit, wiring diagrams, I/O, MCC, VFD's, Drives, Tuning, Servers, pneumatics, valves, hydraulics, P & ID diagrams.
Recent design experience with safety and electrical conformance standards including UL, NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEEE and CE.
Advanced MS Office skills.
Interpersonal flexibility & conflict resolution.
Ability to work independently and self-motivated; takes initiative.
